EDITORIAL
Play an independent blog  nearly two years, and playing  wordpress  almost one year. One year ago, i transferred to wp from z-blog ,playing WP this year ,look back the most important is to play plugins, though aware of plugin will affect WP speed, but i think that WP’s largest charm lies in its rich functionality bring  by plugins .

Here I recommend several plugins that play WP must be filled with

1. Akismet

Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.

2. Wp super cache

This plugin generates static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog. After a html file is generated your webserver will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts.

3.  Google XML Sitemaps

This plugin will generate a special XML sitemap which will help search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo and Ask.com to better index your blog. With such a sitemap, it’s much easier for the crawlers to see the complete structure of your site and retrieve it more efficiently. The plugin supports all kinds of WordPress generated pages as well as custom URLs. Additionally it notifies all major search engines every time you create a post about the new content.

Similar:WP-DB-Backup, Allows you easily to backup your core WordPress database tables. You may also backup other tables in the same database. To wordpress backup, there are many ways, i will introduce later.

This simple plugin is a widget that displays a list of random posts on your widgetized sidebar,contribute to the optimization.

The above recommended are some multi-functional plugins, the following are some characteristics  plugins, for those with special needs, some friend can be use, but not WP plugins must be installed.

1. Codestyling Localization

You can manage and edit all gettext translation files (.po/.mo) directly out of your WordPress Admin Center without any need of an external editor. It automatically detects the gettext ready components (like WordPress itself or any plugin / theme supporting gettext), is able to scan the related source files and assists you using Google translate API during translation. It newly introduces ignore-case and regular expression search during translation.By the way i use it a lot for my chinese localization.

2.WPML Multilingual CMS

WPML makes multilingual content management easy, just like running a site in one language.Turns a single WordPress install into a multilingual site.

Blog Copyright injects a copyright notice into the blog footer. You can see it in action on this very site. The copyright notice automatically updates the year range as time goes one removing the need to ever revisit your copyright

4.Maintenance mode

It also minifies the HTML code itself, making your page really lightweight.I also recommend using WP Super Cache in conjuction with Autoptimize to speed up your blog.

Display your WordPress blog statistics. Ranging from general total statistics, some of my plugins statistics and top 10 statistics.Such statistics plugins are so many , for example:wass up,WordPress.com Stats and so on.

10. WordPress Advanced Ticket System

This plugin adds to wordpress the functionnalities of a ticket system. This allows users to submit tickets to report problems or get support on whatever you want. You can customize the status, priority and type of the ticket.

Of course, there are a lot of WP excellent plugins i did not contact, welcome to recommend!
